This fascinating series.
Sequel to The Incorruptibles, The Fear takes place in The Smoke a few months after Cerval Frankenstein and the Incorruptibles went up against The Commission and the Silencios, killing psychopathic mob boss Rooseveldt Franklyn Pfarrer and laying the foundations for a new, more democratic city-state. The ‘victory’ came at great cost and while The Incorruptibles hole up on the Frankenstein estate, Evangeline brooding on her incapacity, Cerval deep in guilty depression, The Commission roars back.
Kicks the entire franchise up a lofty notch.
Soon The Smokies are back into poverty and subservience, forcing Cerval and The Incorruptibles to confront The Commission once more, aided by a host of vivid characters
Would also make for a Rockin’ Series
Violent, sexy, featuring a host of new steampunk machines and characters, The Fear takes the Incorruptibles into new and uncharted territory.

A thoroughly enjoyable continuation of the first book. Poor Shelly Mary, will we ever find out which she prefers for a partner, men or women or both? What about O.M. will we ever hear his/her story or did I miss it somewhere while turning pages? Will the Incorruptibles ever complete their mission of cleaning up The Smoke? Poor Keira, will she be destined to work for SerfCo the rest of her life? These questions and more hopefully will be answered in the 3rd instalment of this fascinating series.
(The Fear) takes an interesting and exciting turn in this latest story, which kicks the entire franchise up a lofty notch… Departing from the first novel, the focus of this sequel takes us more into the hearts and minds of a variety of inhabitants in The Smoke: heroes, rebels, victims and victimizers… a world of disparate and interesting characters… filled with themes that relate to the current state of our “real” world… comes with its own brand of hilarious satire… gratifying and horrifying violence and keen sex… a thoroughly satisfying and, yes, FUN read…
An easy read, fast paced and exciting story. suitable for YA and older.
